Location

Koh Jum Lodge is located on Koh Jum or Koh Pu Island, Krabi Province, Southern Thailand.

The 12 kms long Island is situated in the Andaman Sea in the area referred as Andaman Triangle or Turquoise Triangle, facing Phi Phi Island to the West (15 kms), Koh Lanta (10 kms) to the South and Krabi to the North (18 kms).

Koh Jum Island as a whole is unspoiled and sparsely populated. There are just three small fishing villages with a total population of around one thousand inhabitants.

The Koh Jum Lodge is located in the middle of a five kilometers stretch of untouched sandy beach, fringed by an endless line of coconut trees and tamaris.

The island also boasts quite a high mountain (422m) covered with dense jungle, still unexplored, and inhabited by various type of wildlife including monkeys, sea eagles, and large lizards...

The facilities on the island remain basic: it has just one small dirt road and still no electricity supplied from the mainland. Consequently there has not been any large-scale tourism development. This lack of tourism on a commercial scale is a key attraction on Koh Jum Island. See the itinerary to the Koh Jum Lodge.

Transportation

After 1/2 hour by minibus, from the Krabi airport, our long tail boat will take you from the pier of Laem Kruad to Koh Jum Island in about 40 minutes. From there a short trip of 15 minutes by "songtaew ", (local wooden vehicle) or an additional 20 minutes by long tail boat, to reach our beach depending on the season and tide.

Koh Jum Lodge will operate its own transfers services (minibus + long tail boat) with departures from Krabi airport, or Krabi Town, Ao Nang, etc...

To reach the Koh Jum Lodge, the best is to fly from Bangkok to Krabi, with Thai Airways or low cost carriers, like Air Asia, Nok Air... ( 1h15 mns flight )

Remark: Long tail boat transfer cannot be operated after 18.00.

Excursions

Capitalizing on the excellent and preserved marine environment, the Koh Jum Lodge will organize snorkeling tours to Bamboo, Mosquito, Phi Phi Islands, Koh Poda, Koh Kai, or Railay, with the local boatmen or fishermen of Koh Jum. Scuba Diving to Phi Phi Lay can be proposed through a small diving center based on Koh Jum.

During high season, others local operators on Koh Jum can organize, mangrove, or sea kayaks, fishing tours, or Koh Pu mountain hiking tours.

Remarks:

Conditions of reservation: payment of 25% after confirmed reservation, balance payment 15 days before your arrival to the Lodge.

The cost of cancellation is calculated on the total price of your reservation and service charge.

All prices are per single or double/twin room including daily breakfast, government taxes (VAT).

Minimum Stay:

- Peak season period: Minimum stay of 5 consecutive nights is required, from 15/12/08 to 15/01/09.

- High season period: Minimum stay of 3 consecutive nights is required, from 01/11/08 to 30/04/09.

Supplement for bed and breakfasts: 500 Baht/day for a child under 12 years old - 1 000 Baht/day for over 12 years old and adults.
